Who it fits

Key specs for this folding desk

Weight Capacity: 30 lbs

This limit defines how much weight the desk can safely hold. You can place a laptop, a notebook, and a cup on the surface without risking damage. This capacity is lower than standard standing desks, so you should avoid heavy monitors or stacks of books. It suits users who need a light workspace for brief tasks rather than a permanent heavy-duty station.

Desktop Dimensions: 23.4" x 16.9"

These measurements describe the usable surface area when the desk is unfolded. The width fits a standard laptop, while the depth provides room for writing or a mouse. This size is compact compared to full-sized home office desks. It is ideal for small bedrooms or corners where floor space is limited, allowing you to keep the room open when the desk is not in use.

Fold size: 23.4x6.3x24.4 inches

This is the footprint of the desk when it is closed against the wall. The depth reduces to just 6.3 inches, making it nearly invisible in a hallway or small room. This feature is crucial for renters or those in apartments with limited square footage. You can mount it in tight spaces without obstructing walkways or furniture placement.

Color: White

The desk surface is finished in white. This neutral color blends easily with most interior decors, including modern or minimalist home offices. It helps the desk recede visually when folded up, reducing visual clutter in small rooms. If you prefer darker furniture, note that this specific model offers this light option to match bright or airy spaces.

Design and Build Overview

According to the listing, the ARTETHYS Wall-Mounted Folding Desk features a two-layer layout designed for compact spaces. The upper shelf provides storage for books or cups, while the lower surface folds down to create a workspace. Behind the upper door, a tack board allows you to pin notes or letters. This vertical arrangement keeps your floor clear and organizes items within arm's reach. The desk is available in white, wood, and grey finishes, allowing you to match your existing decor. The white option offers a clean look, while the wood and grey variants provide different aesthetic tones. You can choose the color that best fits your room's style.

The unit measures 23.4 by 16.9 inches when unfolded, with a depth of 6.3 inches. When folded, it reduces to 23.4 by 24.4 inches in height and 6.3 inches in depth. The desk weighs 20.5 pounds and supports up to 30 pounds of weight. This capacity is sufficient for a laptop and a few small items but limits heavier equipment. A metal baffle on the upper layer prevents items from falling when the desk is open. This safety feature adds stability during use. The listing specifies that the desk must be installed on cement or wood walls. It is not suitable for gypsum walls, which affects where you can mount it. This constraint means you need a solid wall structure before purchasing. The design prioritizes space efficiency over large work surfaces.

Setup and Daily Use Guide

Installation requires a solid wall structure. The listing specifies that this unit is suitable for cement and wood walls. It cannot be installed on gypsum walls. You must ensure your mounting surface matches these requirements before beginning setup. The desk weighs 20.5 pounds, so you will need appropriate hardware to secure it firmly to the wall. Once mounted, the unit folds flat against the wall, measuring 23.4 by 6.3 by 24.4 inches. This compact folded size helps save floor space in small rooms.

When you are ready to work, you unfold the lower surface. The desktop expands to 23.4 by 16.9 inches. You can place a laptop, notebook, or cup on this surface. The weight capacity is 30 pounds. This limit applies to the entire folded structure when installed. You must distribute weight evenly to avoid stress on the mounting points. An anti-falling metal baffle is present on the upper shelf. This feature prevents items like books or cups from sliding off when the desk is opened.

Daily use involves switching between storage and workspace modes. The upper layer holds items securely. Behind the upper door, a tack board allows you to pin notes or letters. This adds a functional layer for organization without cluttering the desk surface. The unit includes an LED light, which you can use during evening work sessions. The design supports quick transitions between a closed cabinet and an open desk. You simply fold the surface up to clear the area or pull it down to begin working. The white color option blends with most interior decors, though wood and grey variations are also available.

Before You Buy This Desk

This compact unit fits best in tight spaces like small bedrooms or hallways. You will need to verify your wall type before installation. The listing states it works on cement and wood walls but not gypsum. Using the wrong surface risks damage. You should also check your device weight. The thirty-pound limit is modest. A heavy monitor, keyboard, and laptop might exceed this. Keep the surface clear of heavy items to stay safe. Cleaning is simple with a dry cloth. Dust the tack board area regularly to maintain adhesion. This desk differs from standard standing desks by its fixed height and fold-away design. It suits users who need a temporary workspace rather than a permanent standing station. If you require adjustable height or larger surfaces, other options in this guide may serve you better. Ensure your room has enough clearance for the desk to unfold fully. This prevents obstruction when you are working.

Check before you buy

• Confirm your wall is cement or wood, not gypsum.
• Check that your total device weight stays under thirty pounds.
• Measure your room to ensure the unfolded desk has clearance.
• Verify you need a fixed-height workspace for your routine.
